A Family Clinic for the Community
In 1969, when the only area doctor decided to retire, 10 nonprofit organizations decided to raise funds through bake sales and donations to start the Love Memorial Clinic. In 1975, they had earned enough to open the 3,400 square foot facility that has since grown to 7,700 square feet. It's still non-profit and completely community-owned by a group of 10 organizations (Moorefield Vol. Fire Co., Am Legion, VFW, Hardy CEOS, Bean Settlement Ruritan, Federated Women's Club, Young Womens Club, Hardy Co. Farm Bureau, Lions Club and the Moose). The facility still maintains the same loving care as the day it opened.
